A delegation from the University of Florida visits NARC

An academic delegation from th University of Florida (UF) visited the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), which included researchers in different fields such as livestock, silage production, hydrology, climate change, and drought, to discuss future mutual collaboration regarding agricultural research development.

Dr. Nizar Haddad, the Director General of NARC, emphasized the endeavor of NARC to develop agricultural scientific research through cooperation and networking with international and local academic institutions, which outlined many scientific and agricultural achievements and practical experiences in cooperation with these institutions.

Haddad noted that, since its inception, NARC has been very keen to implement scientific research outputs, transfer modern technologies, and digitalization of agriculture by creating a motivating environment that boosts research, promotes donor confidence, directs scientific research to meet the challenges facing the agricultural sector, especially, in water, energy and climate change, as well as, achieving food security.

Dr. Adesogan Adegbola, a professor of ruminant nutrition at the University of Florida said that NARC had become a destination for many, to develop scientific research and transfer modern technologies in the region through research outputs implemented by NARC researchers in many agricultural fields. In addition to the potential of the existing research and infrastructure that make NARC an attractive environment for international and academic institutions to invest in research and experience sharing.

Adegbola clarified the university’s intention for future cooperation with NARC in mutual research in the fields of climate change, drought, and hydrology.
